About Me
Shannon James Beck is a Film composer, Music Producer and Teacher.
I'm Shannon, a passionate film composer and music producer who loves crafting musical narratives that elevate storytelling. My goal is to create music that perfectly complements a director’s vision.

My journey began at age five studying classical piano with The Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada. Over the years, I’ve performed at recitals, weddings, and events, explored Ukrainian folk and jazz, and played in rock bands—each experience expanding my musical range.
By twelve, I was composing original pieces and later joined orchestral ensembles, performing tenor saxophone in bands and a woodwind quartet. Today, I draw inspiration from classical, orchestral, and electronic genres.

I’ve collaborated internationally on projects such as Pathways, produced in Pokhara, Nepal, and the Sanatione documentary series, (Sanatione Series Link) a global film project capturing stories from the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, I continue composing for film and media, teach piano and composition, participating in scoring competitions (Film Scoring Competitions Link)

Documentary Series
Currently, I am a major contributing composer for the "Sanatione" documentary series about people's stories during the covid-19 pandemic. This is a unique project of filmmakers from across the world. This is a short film I co-produced and scored the music for. I gave my heart and soul into this project. Stranded has recently been accepted as Official Selections for 2025 film festivals!!
