About Me

I'm Shannon, a passionate film composer and music producer with a love for crafting musical narratives. My goal is to deliver music that perfectly complements a director's vision, making each project a unique and immersive experience for the audience.

🎹 Early Beginnings

My journey with music began at the age of 5 when I started studying classical piano with The Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada. I achieved honors at every level, setting the foundation for my musical journey. Over the years, I've played at recitals, weddings, private parties, church events, and even formed rock bands. Alongside classical training, I delved into the world of Ukrainian folk and jazz music, broadening my musical horizons.

🎷 Orchestral Adventures

At the age of 12, I began creating my own contemporary and classical compositions on the piano. In junior and senior high, I joined orchestral bands and took up the tenor saxophone, excelling in this environment. My dedication led to an invitation to join a special woodwind quartet performing group, further expanding my performance skills.

🎼 Exploring Musical Diversity

I have a deep interest in exploring various genres of music. I find particular inspiration in classical, orchestral and electronica genres. My love for blending these genres allows me to create music that's both timeless and innovative, transcending boundaries and connecting with audiences in new ways.

🌍 Global Collaborations

I'm dedicated to the power of music in storytelling, which led me to collaborate on the short film "Pathways," produced in Pokhara, Nepal, during the 2019 International Youth Media Summit. Working closely with a talented group of filmmakers, we created a powerful, cinematically beautiful exploration of the theme of violent extremism. After this project, I became a major contributing composer for the "Sanatione" Documentary series produced by IYMS. This series is a global collaboration of filmmakers documenting people's stories during the covid pandemic.

🌆 Current Pursuits

Currently, I'm based in Warsaw, Poland and continuing to be a short film composer for IYMS. I continue to produce my own tracks in various genres building my portfolio in the realm of film and media. In addition, I love teaching students piano and composition. Exciting new projects launched soon will be a inspiration blog on the philosophy and psychology of being an artist and a music consulting service!!!
